Notes from previous MSHA team’s project presentation:
• Incentives: MSHA give awards for “mines” and “miners”, so perhaps such awards can be used to motivate people to take the 8-hour training (hard hat, certificate)
• Inspectors as target audience? Mine supervisors and new miners
• Using the training internally (within MSHA and NMSHA)
• Previous team talked to miners below supervisory level
• MSHA liked the pre-assessment, how will this be imported, what is the passing score?
• If learner doesn’t achieve 100% on post-assessment, send the learner back to the appropriate module for remediation
• Improve SCSR(Self-contained Self-Rescue) training, not in Statement of Work
• Collaborative training: MSHA liked team-based training for miners, discussion boards
• 8-hour refresher training – is this a good objective for the project?
